Yunnan Baiyao is a traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula used for wound healing, as a pain reliever, and to stop bleeding.

Q: Can Yunnan Baiyao Used for Pets?

It is popular with pet owners and veterinarians! Yunnan Baiyao is commonly used to help treat wounds, tumors, and bleeding disorders naturally. Studies show that it’s an appropriate treatment for bleeding cancers like sarcomas in dogs and cats and other bleeding disorders like exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage in racehorses.

Q: Should I give my dog Yunnan Baiyao?

Yunnan Baiyao should only be used under consult of a veterinarian. It is commonly used to extend the life of dogs (and cats) with bleeding cancers such as hemangiosarcoma or nasal cancer (nosebleeds).

Q: What is the common dosage for dogs and cats?

Common recommendations for dogs:

Dogs from 10 to 30 pounds, give 1 capsule by mouth two times a day.

Dogs 30 to 60 pounds, give 2 capsules two times a day.

Dogs over 60 pounds, give 2 capsules three times a day.

Common dose for cats:

1/2- 1 capsule once daily is recommended. Some cat owners have success mixing Yunnan Bai Yao with fish-based cat food.

After the acute phase it is best to dose on alternating days, or for a 5-day on 5-day off cycle that repeats.

Q: What is the 'red pill'?

A red pill comes with every package of Yunnan Baiyao, whether in powder or capsule form.

This tiny red pill is intended for severe emergency cases – extreme blood loss that can predispose a person/pet into shock, which is fatal.

How to use

Internally

Taken 1 pill per day, intended for treating shock due to significant hemorrhage; it may also help alleviate pain. Its ingredients are not revealed.

The usual procedure is to take the pill along with the first dose of Yunnan Paiyao if there is severe bleeding.

For less severe bleeding, the pill is not used.

Externally

The red pill can be crushed and applied directly to the wound to stop bleeding.

Best when used in conjunction with the Powder to plaster the wound shut.

Not only excellent at stopping bleeding, but also helps to keep the wound free of infection.

Q: Why there are green package and blue package in the market?

The blue package of Yunnan Baiyao Capsules is especially for exporting and has been discontinued now. All the products are now in green packaging in China, but the products are totally the same as before.
